    Ambulances Destroyed by Blaze in Ashland, VA, Rescue Squad Station

    The fire that destroyed three ambulances and an ATV was contained to the bay of the Ashland station.

    Three ambulances and an ATV were destroyed when the Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad went up in flames Thursday night.

    A passerby called 9-1-1 just after 10 p.m. after spotting an ambulance on fire in the station, Hanover Fire and EMS Public Information Officer John Cundiff told WTVR.

    The first firefighters confirmed that three ambulances were burning in the building. Crews deemed the fire under control in 45 minutes, and contained it to the bay.

    "The fire wall did do its job and kept the majority of the fire within the apparatus bays. The majority is salvageable which is important...our people’s safety is key and nobody was injured..." Cundiff stated.

    There will not be a disruption of EMS in the area as Hanover Fire and EMS has crews deployed.
